Plum Pie From New York Times

"I cook such pie already several times. It is pleasant to all. Very simple on preparation, ingredients are almost always and at all the house (except plums, of course)I recommend to try that who doubts!"


Іngredients

Sugar (plus 2 tbsps on topping) — 3/4 glass.
Butter (or margarine) — 113 g
Wheat flour — 1 glass.
Egg — 2 pieces
Baking powder — 1 tsp.
Salt (pinch)
Plum (a grade "Hungarian" or prunes) — 12 pieces
Cinnamon — 1 tsp.

Plum according to the recipe has to be grades "Hungarian". If I correctly understood, then it still call prunes. I for the first time bought very large plum, it closed all povernost of pie. In the subsequent times of discharge was small, and too it turned out tasty and beautifully. We need 24 halves, that is 12 whole plums.

Shake up oil from 3/4 Art. of sugar.

On one to add eggs, salt. Shake up once again.

Spoon to implicate the flour mixed with a baking powder. Not to fanaticism! As you can see, dough quite dense. At this stage we include an oven by 175-180 degrees.

Sugar on plums will caramelize. Pie fantastically looks. As you can see, green, ordinary-looking plum after roasting turns in amber, with a red outflow. Very interesting effect.

It is desirable to serve warm with a ball of vanilla ice cream.
